Creating and adding a page to your site
Linking to websites or other pages
- If you copy and paste a picture, and it doesn't show up on your web page, try the following steps:
- find the picture on the Internet that you want
- point your cursor at the picture and right click
- click properties
- copy ALL of the website (URL) in the properties box
- go to edit mode on your site
- click the insert/edit image icon on your toolbar, next to HTML
- paste the URL you copied into the image URL field
- add a title, which will show up, when you hover over it, if you wish
To change your font or color, follow these steps:
- Click the arrow next to Font family or font size and choose the desired font and size
- Click the arrow next to the blue A or the yellow ab on the toolbar, and select the font color or font shade

Creating and adding a page to your site
To create a new page and link it within your current website, follow these steps

- Go to your private page.
- Click edit and type the phrase that you want your new link to be called; for example, My Writing
- Highlight or select that phrase
- Click on the chain link icon
on your toolbar (above the horse shoe) - When the link URL pop-up box comes up, type a page name that begins with your last name, then first name, followed by the page title; for example, Barnesmarkwriting. No spaces allowed here.
- Click insert
- Click Save & Close
- Click on the new link you've created
- A box will pop up saying Page Not Found
- Click the link that says Create Page
- Click Submit
- Save & Close
- Your new link and page have now been created on the link you've just created
To add a web link, follow these steps:
- Copy the web address (URL) that you want linked on your site
- Type the word or phrase you want visitors to click to reach the linked site
- Select the word or phrase to be linked
- Click the link icon, under Font Family, on your menu
- Paste the URL into the URL field and save
To add an attachment follow these steps
- Close the document you want to attach to your barnesclass site
- Go to the page you want to attach the document to
- Click the "edit" link in the upper-right corner
- Click the Attachments tab under page tools
- Use the Browse tab to locate your file
- Browse to your folder and to the exact document you want to attach
- Upload your file
- Give your file any name you wish
- Be sure to submit your attachment
To link an attachment as a part of text follow these steps
- Type the word or phrase that you want a reader to click, when opening your attachment
- Select this word or phrase
- Click the insert/edit icon under Font family on the toolbar
- Find Link List on the pop-up box and click the dropdown arrow
- Look for a list of attachments (remember, the document must already be attached to your page)
- Select the attachment you want linked
- Click Insert
To change your password, follow these steps:
- On the main menu at the top of the site, click User
- On the dropdown menu, click on preferences
- Enter the password you desire -- all lower case letters
- Re-enter the password where it says, confirm password
- Click submit, and your password is changed
Creating a page template
To create a new page using a template and link it within your current website, follow these steps

- Go to your private page.
- Click edit and type the phrase that you want your new link to be called; for example, My Outline
- Highlight or select that phrase
- Click on the chain link icon
on your toolbar (above the horse shoe) - When the link URL pop-up box comes up, type a page name that begins with your last name, then first name, followed by the page title; for example, barnesmaroutline. No spaces allowed here.
- Click insert
- Click Save & Close
- Click on the new link you've created
- A box will pop up saying Page Not Found
- Click the link that says Create Page
- IMPORTANT: click the dropdown menu arrow, next to Template
- Look for the proper template, such as Outline Template
- Click Submit
- Save & Close
- Your new link and page have now been created on the link you've just created
