Thesis Statement Model
Thesis Statement for a Research Paper
A thesis statement is a sentence at the end of the first paragraph of your research paper that explains the entire paper in one statement.
A Thesis Statement is the single-most important sentence in your paper.
Ask yourself this question when writing your thesis statement: What is the most important message this entire paper should convey to a reader?
Your answer should be one lengthy, compound sentence.
Your Thesis Statement should focus on ONE idea. You don’t want your paper going in two different directions.
