Check out what parents and Students say about BarnesClass.com. . .

"Bravo to barnesclass.com!

It is my belief that my daughter's success in Mr. Barnes Language Arts can be attributed to the barnesclass.com website and the various tools it provided. Technology continues to expand its beneficial influence into better communication and interaction between teacher and student.  Barnesclass.com makes everything as simple as point and click. Consider the following examples:

Class Presentations: Want to know what presentations are being used in your child's classroom? Great, click on that link and you will have the opportunity to see for yourself and the added benefit, it adds for great review time at home.

Class Activities: Take a look to see what your student did daily.

Podcast: Having the opportunity to listen to ways to help my daughter excel is great and barnesclass.com makes excellent use of this tool.

My daughter's thoughts: When I asked my daughter what she liked about barnesclass.com she explained to me the following:

  • The ability to check her grades online
  • Mr. Barnes could post comments online to explain what needed to be done to improve a grade.
  • Fun and educational games.

Mr. Barnes 7th grade Language Arts class has been a rewarding experience."

"Barnesclass.com is an extraordinary site for students and parents to keep track of their assignments. This website really helped me to pay close attention to my daughters success in language arts with Mr. Barnes.  I was able to navigate throughout the system in the syllabus; it gave me the ability to access information and sample presentations for projects that were due in the future.

This information gave me and my daughter insight on what Mr. Barnes was expecting from students. The students have the capability to access the dictionary for the correct spelling of words, [and] all work is turned in on the computer so students don't have to worry about any paper or losing assignments.

I was able to keep up with class activities on a daily basis, with just the click of a mouse.  This gave me the advantage as a parent to stay on top of my daughter, which helped her achieve Merit Roll all year long and recommendation for Honor Language Arts in 2009-2010 school year.

Overall I am really a satisfied parent to have the capability of accessing information via internet it makes my life much less complicated."

"It would be wonderful for every parent to experience what I have this year with Mr Barnes language arts class.  I thought it was the best
thing ever to be able to get up to date information and to be able to see my son's work before he even turned it in.

All of the class information was always available right when I needed it.  Mr. Barnes does a really good job of monitoring the site and posting information so you never have to guess when the site was last updated because it has the dates of all the assignments and when they are due.

I think a lot of parents will appreciate a teacher who you can have constant contact with and just being able to bring a lot of technology into the classroom.  I have found that with using Barnesclass website along with progress book really helps to keep me in the loop of all the class work and it also helped my son keep up with his assignments.  Since I was able to view everything he missed very few assignments.

I just wish that more teachers were doing the same thing.  I am going to miss this for 8th grade.  Thank you Again Mr. Barnes for everything!"

"As a parent of a child whose strong point is not organization, Barnesclass.com is an extremely useful tool.  Upon first glance, I was a bit overwhelmed at the many different links and the technology utilized for such a young group of students.  However, since it is logically organized, I learned to navigate through the site quickly.

Your child will learn new writing concepts this year that you may not remember how to do.  I did so appreciate the links to the example documents that were posted.  Mr. Barnes helped solve any issue of misinterpretation of directions."

"There are many advantages to having a classroom website. It helps us so we don't have to worry about leaving our assignments in our locker or our hamster eating our homework. It's there on the internet and is able to be accessed from anywhere, so our lives become a little less hectic."

                                                 -- Beth, 7th grader

"Having a classroom website is a great way of teaching. For example, with the website, you can save your classwork onto your own private page, so that you can continue to work on it at home. Not only that, but we are saving paper while we are learning in a more efficient way."
